Since emerging in 2011 with a handful of sparkling demos, Glaswegian duo MermaidS have been on a cosmic journey to discover sounds both scintillating and smooth. Releases on Glasgow Underground, Nonlocal and Young Adults have had us melting under a setting sun, delving deep into a mesmerising disco loop and even grooving to the sound of an impeccably implemented Madonna sample. This year they also launched their own label called Goodship Records with a three track EP which became a firm favourite with some of Glasgow’s more astute selectors.
Featuring a forthcoming release on Goodship from The Silver Rider, as well as a new remix of Archive from MermaidS themselves, October’s guestmix emanates a golden glow which will keep you warm all winter. New music also comes from the likes of Sega Bodega, Big Miz, Bleaker and Marco Bernardi in this month's show, encompassing everything from blissed-out trap to interstellar electro.
