Sunday Circus have announced that they will host their final event this August following nine years of parties, inviting SC favourite and Fabric resident Craig Richards to play at The Courtyard on Sunday the 21st.

Writing in the Facebook Event Sunday Circus said “It is with a heavy heart but countless happy emotions and memories we have decided to bring Sunday Circus to an end after 9 amazing years. We are all really proud of what we achieved over those 9 years and there are of course many people we want to thank and will do over the coming weeks.

We hope you can join us for one last party to celebrate those 9 years. For the last time ever we will be in the courtyard (on our 9th anniversary) with one of our favourite guests Craig Richards. Tricky and Affi will of course be supporting Craig in there usual fashion.”

The irregular but hugely popular event founded in 2007 has made use of some of Glasgow’s most unique venues, from The Grand Ole Opry to the Renfrew Ferry, but it was their residency at the original Courtyard which bolstered their reputation, hosting everyone from Matthias Tanzmann to Dyed Soundorom in an intimate, outdoor environment which brought the novelty of alfresco dancing and a continental vibe to Glasgow.

Last year we featured an 8 Years Of Sunday Circus Retrospective which you can read here.
