Optimo have announced a ‘Rave Against Racism’ event at the Sub Club in light of the recent EU Referendum and its fallout.

Due to take place on August 5th, ‘Rave Against Racism’ will seek to show solidarity with those who are affected by racism and actively oppose the increasingly racist rhetoric that is being seen all over the UK, including Scotland.

Optimo founders JD Twitch and JG Wilkes will play all night long, while all proceeds from the evening will be donated to Glasgow’s Coalition For Racial Equality & Rights (CRER). Entry is a minimum donation of £8, or £2 with proof of unemployment.

Writing in the Facebook event the duo said: “We live in communities that have greatly benefited from the diverse influences people from other countries with different cultures have brought here, and we would like to express our standing in total solidarity with them. Being against racism is all very well but we feel we need to be actively anti-racist and fight this fight in whatever way we are able.”
