With previous guests including Sandrien, Jean Pierre Enfant and Johnny Kaos, Tribal Pulse has provided a consistent and increasingly popular tech house and techno alternative to Glasgow’s more obvious parties. Making full use of The Art School’s visual capabilities, production takes pride of place next to the bookings, and installations by WeAreTallOrder are set to illuminate this Friday’s event with Roman Tapia.
Playing alongside Tribal Pulse resident and founder, Boom Merchant, the Belgium-based producer has an arsenal of explosive releases under his belt, with previous outings on labels ranging from Bedrock to Suara, Snatch! to Skint. Add Turbo Recordings and DJ Sneak’s I’m A House Gangster to that list and you start to get a sense of Tapia’s ability to write a dancefloor bomb. Having launched his own label, Say What? Recordings in 2012, we asked him to select a track from the imprint which has been tearing things up recently:
TN.T - DARQ (Say What? Recordings)
“I signed this track a while ago on Say What? Recordings and from the first time I heard it I knew it was spot on. This is tech house at its finest, and if you play this bad boy loud it rocks the shit out of any system. So happy I was able to sign TN.T as I know they will have a good future ahead of them. Be sure you check them out - you won’t be disappointed!”
Ramon Tapia joins Boom Merchant at Tribal Pulse this Friday (6th) at The Art School. Advance tickets are available from Resident Advisor priced at £7. TN.T – ‘Darq’ EP is available now via Say What? Recordings.
