From the release of his debut single ‘Runaway’ back in 2009, right through to the subtle euphoria of ‘The Theme’ and last year’s piano-driven monster ‘Straight To Your Heart’, Graeme Shepherd aka Grum hasn’t put a foot wrong. A regular fixture for the likes of Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Pete Tong, his productions gleam with a reassuring quality and intelligence which is perfectly captured in new single ‘Sunday Blue Sky’.
Now based in Glasgow, we’re hopeful to see a lot more of him on local line-ups and that’s definitely something to get excited about. Virtually just off the plane from Miami’s Winter Music Conference, he joins the likes of Andrew Bayer and Ilan Bluestone for a special Anjunabeats showcase at Love Action's Easter Weekender, kicking off four nights of parties. Expect uplifting melodies and progressive chords to define his set, with his weekend selection, Fehrplay – ‘Lotus’, providing the perfect taster. Grum tells us about the track below:
“Jonas Fehrplay’s debut on Anjunabeats is a beautifully unpretentious end of night tune, done just right. It grabbed me immediately on first listen. He combines an 80’s inspired, endlessly optimistic melody and chord progression with ‘Prydz-y’ beats and energy to create a modern classic - everything I love. I’m sure this will go down a treat at SWG3!"
Grum plays a special Anjunabeats showcase at Love Action Festival this Thursday (2nd) at SWG3 (please note the venue change from The Arches - this only applies to Thursday of Love Action). Advance tickets are available now from The Arches website. Grum -‘Sunday Blue Sky’ is available now via Heartbeats.
