With releases on Dirt Crew, Heist and their own Splendour & Squalour label, Irish duo Brame & Hamo have something of a golden touch, occupying that joyous groove between house, disco and hip hop. Rolling out warm basslines alongside dusty samples and filtered chords, their sound is jazz’d-up, jacking and fresh, making fans out of Detroit Swindle, Bicep and even Tiesto.

Now based in Berlin and having just completed a riotous tour of Ireland - which featured more than a few instances of ‘taps-aff’ delirium - the duo are making their way over to Glasgow where they will no doubt be met with the same response.

Playing the brilliantly inclusive and seriously on-point We Should Hang Out More at La Cheetah this Saturday (8th), we asked the duo to select one track which they’re itching to drop. Digging out an obscure French-touch favourite from Thomas Bangalter’s iconic Roulé label, Brame & Hamo are packing heat:

“Well, we were digging through some old sets from the 90s and there’s some sick Gemini (Spencer Kincy) sets around that we recommend everybody checking out - sick mixing and sick tracks, timeless stuff. We came across one track in it that was so familiar, but we just couldn’t find it; eventually when we got the name of it we bought the record right away. The track is on the famous Roulé label by one half of Daft Punk, ‘Thomas Bangalter’. It’s a bomb track.”

Brame & Hamo play We Should Hang Out More at La Cheetah Club this Saturday 8th April. Advance tickets are available from Resident Advisor priced at £6.00 (excl fees).
