Resident at Bath St sweatbox, Flat 0/1, where he’s hosted his Tremors night since 2012, Arctor has finally got round to launching his own label, with the inaugural release coming from the man himself.

The ‘Memory Gene’ EP is a fine introduction to both the Tremors party and imprint, presenting four futuristic heaters which occupy the space between electro and techno.

The cosmic intro of the title track sets the tone for the whole release, with airy pads drifting in over broken beats and warping sub-bass, before an electric topline sets fire to the breakdown.

Elsewhere, ‘Don’t Matter None’ employs hypnotic vocal stabs over an acidic bassline, while ‘The Gulf’ goes fast and frenetic with futuristic atmospherics and a tempo approaching footwork. Dreamy and driving, ‘Memory Gene’ provides pure dancefloor escapism.
