XL’s Mssingno will headline PVC's relaunch at The Art School, hooking-up with Hawkchild DIY on the 15th September to mark the beginning of the academic year.

The night will also feature a performance from New Jersey’s Cakes Da Killa, as well as an array of talent from the UK’s underground, including Bala Club founders Uli K and Kamixlo, BBC Azn Network’s Manara and local selectors locals Hawkchild DIY & Guerre, plus PVC DJs Femme Fresh and Sycophantasy.

Mssingno is the latest signee for forward thinking electronic label Tri Angle Records, who boast the likes of Bjork, Evian Christ and Fatima Al-Qadiri in their ranks. Prior to signing for the label, Mssingno was already causing eruptions with his innovative and naturalistic take on R&B, earning him a record deal with XL Recordings, as well as previous work with Katy B.

Cakes Da Killa style of delivery and flow has been described as “one of hip hop’s most exciting voices”, with many drawing comparisons to Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj, while his productions have gained praise from MTV and Vice.

Returning for their second season every Thursday at The Art School, PVC offer all-inclusive partying with local talent and special guests, previously hosting parties with Danny L Harle and Bossy Love.

Founded by Hashim Ali, Hawkchild DIY started life as an events promoting project, before developing into a label, party and showcase for unorthodox and innovative music and art forms.

Hawkchild DIY x PVC present Mssingno, Cakes Da Killa and more at The Art School on Thu 15th September. Advance tickets are available for £5 (GSA)/ £7 (other) from The Art School website.
