One of Glasgow’s longest serving bars, Moskito, celebrates its 15th birthday later this month and they’re throwing a two day street party to celebrate. The Bath St institution which opened in 2000 has won multiple awards, boasting some of Glasgow’s finest resident DJs and the service to match. On the 29th and 30th August, there will be a literal roadblock as they shutdown Douglas St for a bank holiday blowout, with local heroes AliOOFT! and The Revenge heading up a huge bill of DJ and live talent. Having just undergone a makeover, this will be the perfect time to reacquaint with or discover a Glasgow favourite, and best of all, tickets are free.
“Our idea is to present the best of Moskito's atmosphere, style and music as well as showcase some of our favorite bands and DJs” says Joe Cassidy, general manager. “In true Moskito style there will be something for everyone, with bands including C. Duncan, Three Blind Wolves and special acoustic sets thoughout the day; a B2B session from AliOOFT! and The Revenge; Melting Pot, Hammer (Thunder Disco Club), Craig Stevens, Andrew Devine and Illyus & Barrientos, to name just a few.”
“We are extremely proud to have been serving up food and drinks to the Glasgow public for the last 15 years and we are just a little bit excited about this party. We would love to see you there to help us celebrate!”
Moskito’s 15th birthday takes place on the 29th and 30th August. Tickets are free and can be collected from behind the bar. More info and the full lineup can be found at the Facebook Event.
