The ‘Magenta EP’ was the first music we pressed play on this week and it was completely revitalising. Coming via LA label, Lush Selects, the five futuristic tracks are the result of a collaboration between Glasgow producers DTTØ and Misti.

Last year we featured DTTØ’s debut album ‘Botanics’ as one of our albums of the year, and while we don’t know much about Misti, his Soundcloud is gleaming with colourful beats.

Wonderfully detailed and equally fluid, the ‘Magenta EP’ is a melting pot of fresh ideas, drawing on a whole range of influences.

From the skipping garage sound of ‘Just A Little’ which employs a T2-style vocal loop and bassline, to the Bonobo-esque dramatics of the title track and the warping slow-motion sound of ‘Naked Alice’, DTTØ and Misti seem inspired by the ever-evolving nature of electronic music, infusing bass, neo-soul and broken beats into something satisfyingly fresh.
