Hillhead Bookclub will host two legends over Christmas and New Year, with Kenny Dope, one half of house music heroes Masters At Work, joining Melting Pot for a party on Boxing Day and Chicago master, Roy Davis Jr, inaugurating 2017 with a set on New Year’s Day.

Alongside Lil Louis Vega, Kenny Dope formed Master At Work – one of the most influential production partnerships of all time - during the 90s. Their output on labels such as Cutting Records, Nervous and their own label, MAW, produced classics such as ‘I Can’t Get No Sleep’ and ‘To Be In Love’, not to mention their collaborative work as Nuyorican Soul.

As a solo producer, Kenny Dope has remixed some of the biggest artists in the world as well as being Grammy nominated four times, with a discography that stretches back over 25 years.

The Melting Pot DJs host an evening session with Dope from 7pm-1am on Monday 26th December, alongside Kevin McFarlane and Stephen Lee from Room Two.

On New Year’s Day, Roy Davis Jr will make a rare appearance at Hillhead Bookclub, joined by Dixon Avenue Basement Jams co-founder, ‘The Wasp’.

Perhaps best known for his 1996 garage classic ‘Gabriel’, Roy Davis Jr worked as an A&R for Strictly Rhythm during the 90s and was an early member of influential acid house group, Phuture. He was also one of the few artists to be signed to Thomas Bangalter’s iconic Roulé Music imprint.

Advance tickets for Melting Pot Presents Kenny Dope are available from Ticket Tailor priced at £25 (excl fees). Advance tickets for New Year’s Day with Roy Davis Jr are currently not on sale, but keep an eye on the Facebook Event for updates.
