COMMON SENSE W/ S-TYPE, NIGHTWAVE, INKKE, ALL CAPS & MORE
The Art School - March 11th

When a lineup is this good and comprised entirely of local talent, you have to be proud. Organised in aid of Glasgow School of Art’s 4th Year Communication Design degree show, you can expect LuckyMe’s S-Type to bring his trademark ‘crunk-funk’ to the party, alongside fellow heavyweights Nightwave - whose Heka Trax label is a constantly evolving source of futuristic sounds - and Inkke, one of Glasgow and grime's most promising prospects. If that wasn’t enough, Bake and Ryan All Caps will also be in attendance alongside Mother and Cleoslaptra. And it’s not just the DJs you should be getting hype about either, as the Common Sense crew invite you to “indulge, stimulate, tantalise and immerse all of your senses, exploring sound, sight, touch, taste and smell across both levels of the Art School.” Sold. STEREOTONE PRESENTS…ON LOOP W/ MOXIE & SHANTI CELESTE
La Cheetah - March 31st

Establishing herself as one of the UK’s most on-point selectors, Radio 1 Residency and NTS presenter, Moxie, brings her On Loop party to La Cheetah next month with the help of Stereotone. Heading out across the UK and Europe, her aim is to “create an atmosphere where as soon as you walk in you want to find a spot and stay all night.” Building her reputation from the ground up, Moxie started on the London club circuit at seminal nights like DMZ while regularly hosting on former pirate radio station, Rinse. Her current shows are anchored in house and techno, but don’t be surprised if you hear a bit of disco, garage and RnB in the mix. Joining her will be Shanti Celeste, who's been causing quite a stir with releases on Julio Bashmore’s Broadwalk and her own Brstl imprint with tracks ranging from shimmering electro to raw, jacking house. LOOSE JOINTS PRESENTS…LEGOWELT & THE BURRELL CONNECTION
The Berkeley Suite - April 1st

With a discography stretching right back to the mid-90s and with more than 20 different aliases, Danny Wolfers is often cited as one of the most productive and prolific producers in the game. It’s under his Legowelt moniker that he’s perhaps best known however, releasing on labels ranging from Cocoon to Clone, Crème Organization to L.I.E.S., with a hardware-heavy sound rooted in house and electro. Making a welcome return to The Berkeley Suite for Loose Joints, he’ll be joined by local upstart, The Burrell Connection, who released his impressive debut EP ‘Pollock County Classics’ on West End Communications last year, with four acidic and immersive analogue jams. BIGFOOT’S TEA PARTY W/ MATRIXXMAN & PALMS TRAX
Sub Club - May 20th

“I about literally passed out and shit my pants when I seen the new BFTP poster in Sub Club” tweeted one punter after spotting the lineup for the next Bigfoot’s party. And yes, he was right to be so excited that he almost soiled himself. For those in the know, this is a dream pairing which only happens once in a blue moon. Both Matrixxman and Palms Trax are true masters of their craft – the former behind a slew of uncompromising techno belters on the likes of Dekmantel, Unknown To The Unknown and Delft, climaxing with last year’s debut album ‘Homesick’; the latter, Palms Trax, a Berlin-based wunderkind whose skills behind the decks are matched by his hypnotic, organic and original productions. Releases on Lobster Theremin and the aforementioned Dekmantel stand testament to that. (Tickets)
