The weather may be miserable but it's been another hot month for music, with surprise releases coming from the likes of Sega Bodega (pictured) and Sei A, as well as the first official release from one of our favourite beat producers, Bessa, who we've been supporting for many years.

It's also great to hear fresh music from Affi Koman; the former Sunday Circus resident makes a welcome appearance on Rob Etherson and Illyus' new label Lyceum Social Club, while Lanark Artefax continues to prove why he's one of the most exciting producers Glasgow has to offer. Listen to some of our favourite releases from June below:

Former Sunday Circus resident, Affi Koman, delivers three bumpin’ house tracks on newly founded local label, Lyceum Social Club. Warm basslines, jacking drums and filtered chords give this release a proper summer vibe, with the title track radiating some serious NY Garage heat:

Crushing techno from a new collaborative project between Harvey and Ryan McKay, this EP on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label pulls no punches. Featuring three paranoid rollers, ‘Visions’ is tense, turbulent and hugely effective, with apocalyptic synths and staccato stabs creating a sense of out and out delirium:

BESSA – ARAPAHOS (Handpicked)

It's been a long time coming, but Sam ‘Bessa’ Reader is finally preparing to drop his debut album. Due on super-fresh, super-organic DIY label, Handpicked, the first single 'Arapahos' is a laid-back, tropical funk-jam with retro synths and elastic bass. The perfect soundtrack to summer, even if it is pissing with rain:

Consistently producing knock-out house jams over the last few years, Illyus & Barrientos have finally been picked up by Defected for this undeniable groover. Shuffling drums and slick chords underpin a massive soul-diva vocal, making this their classiest joint to date:

A lot of people are getting excited about Lanark Artefax, and with a sound which is fearless, future-facing and strikingly original, it’s easy to hear why. Returning to Nic Tasker’s ever-evolving Whities label, his new four track EP is an electric pulse of warped soundwaves and dizzying drum patterns:

Re-imagined by Glasgow producer and multi instrumentalist, Halfscreen, and premiered on SynthGlasgow last week, this meditative slice of meandering trip-hop taps into the haunting beauty of the Perfume original, drifting effortlessly over six minutes of harmonious harps and whispered vocals:

Back on independent Bristol label, Crazylegs, Sega Bodega continues to push his sound to the limit with this heavyweight club cut. Sampling Chris Brown’s ‘Look At Me Now’ and flipping it into a heavyweight trap monster with bruising bass and feverish vocal chops, this will punch through any soundsystem:

SEI A – HOLDING EP (Aus Music)

Following his breathtakingly beautiful album ‘Space In Your Mind’, Sei A returns to Aus Music with four reflective cuts of hypnotic house and textured techno. Dreamy synths and pensive pads colour this release, with lead track ‘Holding’ perhaps the most introspective of the set:
