Following wide success at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards 2015, Glasgow has once again been recognised for its contribution to electronic music and clubbing in the UK, with a series of nominations across a range of categories.

Jasper James and Slam lead the acknowledgements with nominations for Best Resident DJ. Jasper James spent a year as Saturday night resident at new London club, Phonox, where he regularly played from start to finish, while also being joined by a wealth of secret guests including Disclosure and Jackmaster.

Slam, meanwhile, celebrate 18 years of Pressure this month, where they’ve been residents since 1998. The duo have consistently brought the cream of techno to Glasgow while maintaining their status as stalwarts of the city – bolstered by their label Soma Records and recent studio albums ‘Reverse Proceed’ and ‘Machine Cut Noise’.

Other nominations for awards include Denis Sulta for Best Breakthrough Producer, Sub Club for Best Small Club and Auntie Flo’s Highlife for best club event.

Last year The Revenge, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Jasper James, Soma Records and Slam all picked up awards.

Supported by Point Blank, The Best Of British Awards were founded as a “counterweight" to the Top 100 DJs poll, celebrating the finest homegrown talent, clubs, releases and events.
