Taking place at a city centre location which is yet to be announced, the event will be used to shoot scenes for the feature film BEATS.

Directed by Brian Welsh and co-written by Kieran Hurley, BEATS tells the story of Johnno and Spanner, who live in a small suburban Scottish town at the time of the 1994 Criminal Justice Act, which effectively outlawed raves.

Embracing Glasgow’s long heritage of underground music and bringing together a diverse range of people from across the city, the film and party will celebrate the values of the free party movement and the music scene in Scotland in the early 90s.

Optimo’s JD Twitch, i AM residents Beta & Kappa and Radio Scotland’s Rebecca Vasmant will provide the soundtrack alongside a special guest, while those in attendance are asked to adhere to a 90s dress code, encouraging vintage sports wear, ‘trackie bottoms’ and stripes.

The event takes place on Friday 19th May, with those interested in going asked to sign up at 9am on Wednesday 26th April via this link.
