Huntleys + Palmers, the Glaswegian label managed by Andrew Thomson and home to Auntie Flo, has uploaded a surprise sequel to their inaugural ‘Clyde Built’ compilation, featuring some of Glasgow’s finest aspiring and established underground talent.
The free compilation, which includes music from the likes of Hammer, Big Miz, Sad City and MermaidS, provides a platform for the city’s next generation of producers, with new names such as Wheelman, hausfrau and Sham Gate populating the compilation’s 24-strong tracklist.
“Very quickly after releasing the first ‘Clyde Built’ compilation, we knew we had to do another one” says the release note on Soundcloud. “The response from the artists involved and thousands who checked out the comp itself was so encouraging that we couldn't wait to do it again!”
“This time around we set out to replicate the high quality and diverse range of music (of the first compilation) with an entirely different cast of contributing artists and projects, and we’re very excited to share the results with you.”
“It’s worthwhile mentioning that the vast majority of these tracks are unsigned - many don’t even have artist pages - so if anyone is interested in releasing either the music featured or speaking to one of the artists in question, please don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll put you in touch.”
