As two of Glasgow’s most exciting electronic producers, Big Miz and Bessa have been responsible for some of our favourite tracks of the last few years, producing bumping house and super-vibrant street beats, respectively.

The pair recently took part in a creative experiment with Red Bull Studios, where they were invited to Glasgow’s Unit 23, the biggest indoor skatepark in the UK, to record sounds and samples for two brand new tracks.

Joined by BMX sensation Kriss Kyle, the duo captured sounds ranging from tyre squeaks to chain spinning and landing thumps, producing two very different, but equally inventive tunes.

“It was really fun putting the track together” says Miz. “There were a lot of bottom heavy thuds and booms to work with which made it easy to get a kick drum sound going. I tried to keep the sounds as raw as possible so that you could really notice where they had come from.”

Speaking of the project, Kriss said: “It was a lot of fun, and I never thought that the sounds of the skatepark could be turned into something quite so different. Music and riding go hand in hand at Unit, so it was great to work with Big Miz and Bessa to bring this to life, with two unbelievable tracks.”
