Sub Club, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Jasper James and The Revenge have all been nominated for a Best of British Award. The awards, which are promoted by DJ Mag but voted for by the public, features a number of categories including Best DJ, Best Label and Best Live Act, where the focus is solely on British talent, music and enterprise.

This year, Glasgow has been widely recognised with Sub Club nominated for Best Small Club as well as Slam’s ‘Transmissions Glasgow’ compilation up for Best Comp. Dixon Avenue Basement Jams are also up for Best Label, while Jasper James is up for Best Breakthrough DJ and The Revenge has been nominated for Best Album with his debut ‘Love That Will Not Die’.

The Best Of British Awards were founded as an “antidote to the Top 100 DJs poll”, celebrating the finest homegrown talent, clubs, releases and events. Informed by Point Blank London, it carries much more credibility (at least nationally) than its global affiliate. This is the first year that Glasgow has been so extensively acknowledged.
