The two day event will bring together some of Scotland’s best independent record labels at The Barras Art and Design Centre.
Taking place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July, and hosted by 23rd Precinct Music, the Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA) and 57 Degrees North, the free event will give independent labels the chance to showcase their releases and artists.
57 Degrees North co-ordinator John Anderson said: “We’ve run a label market in Aberdeen for the past three years, and it’ s now become an established event in the city’ s cultural calendar, so we’ re delighted to be helping out with the Glasgow equivalent.”
“It’s also a great opportunity for labels from the North-East (and other parts of the country) to meet music fans and network with other labels, all in a fantastic venue.”
“The SMIA is committed to representing and developing Scotland’ s music industry, and label markets are a fantastic way to champion our country’ s recorded output, as well as support Scotland’ s independent record labels and artists” adds SMIA’s Robert Kilpatrick. “We look forward to seeing both music fans and industry practitioners gather together for what will be a great weekend for all.”
