The screening, which will be ‘Raving Iran’s UK premiere, is due to be hosted at the Barras Art and Design centre on Sunday 19th February.

Directed by German filmmaker Susanne Regina Meures, the film follows Anoosh and Arash who are at the centre of Tehran’s underground techno scene, where Western music is banned and sharing it is a punishable offence.

Tired of hiding from the police, the duo organize one last rave under dangerous circumstances in the desert, leading to a phone call that will change their lives forever.

The premiere is presented in association with Glasgow Film Festival and Sub Hub, an ongoing programme of cultural events from Sub Club that expand outside the walls of its 22 Jamaica Street basement venue.

The event will also be accompanied by Iranian street food inspired by some of the best Persian chefs working in Scotland.

Advance tickets are available now from the Glasgow Film Festival website priced at £14 (£12 concessions).
