If you’re not in the Halloween spirit, a blast of General Ludd’s new EP on Hong Kong label, Fragrant Harbour, will get you feeling freaky.

Comprised of Tom Marshallsay (aka Dam Mantle) and Golden Teacher’s Rich McMaster, General Ludd have featured on label’s ranging from Mister Saturday Night to Autonomous Africa and Rubadub this year, and their EP for Fragrant Harbour - which drops early 2017 - is typically mind-melting.

Lead track ‘What’ is an 8 minute odyssey, journeying into the darkest recesses of the dancefloor. It’s warping, wobbling bass stabs stick to a bouncing, skeletal beat, while haunting synths creep up on you like a menacing poltergeist. It’s an intense workout which will reduce the dancefloor to goo.

‘Later Last Night’, meanwhile, is a paranoid rhythm which sounds like your decent into madness. It’s marching beat soldiers on while warbling sub frequencies worm into your head. Finally, ‘Making Strange’ does exactly that, signing off with crazy percussion and stuttered drums. If this doesn’t wake up your dancefloor, then nothing will.
