With an influx of new students about to descend on Glasgow, it made sense to introduce some of the equally fresh-faced promoters who are bringing something different to the city’s dancefloor. Glasgow has long-benefited from an array of established and consistent parties, but it’s the young, eager and energised who keep the old guard on their toes, offering new ideas and a revitalised perspective. Over the next month we’re going to flash-feature some of the parties which deserve your attention, starting with sesh-committed collective, Lezure:

These Edinburgh party-starters have been consistently booking high level talent and generally causing a bit of a stir on the East Coast since early 2015. Having already attracted a loyal following at The Mash House thanks to guests like DJ Deeon, Borrowed Identity and Marquis Hawkes, Lezure are finally heading west to establish a foothold in Glasgow. Launching this Saturday (3rd) in La Cheetah’s intimate basement, you can expect to find Lyon’s J-Zbel collective playing all night long, cranking up the heat with break-beat chaos and ravey synths.

How did Lezure begin and what is the ethos behind the night?

Lezure was the culmination of 36 hours of no sleep and a double student loan payment. The ethos is to create an inclusive vibe and to stay awake for as long as possible after the event.

What’s been your favourite party so far?

Lezure 012 w/ Bruce. After courting him for a while on Facebook, we were delighted when he finally agreed to come to Edinburgh for Sneakys and a sleepover. To our delight he was a lovely person and became an instant member of the crew. Needless to say he played a killer set and more than embraced our up-for-days mentality. Big up all the gang who made that party.

Where do you like to hangout in Glasgow away from the club?

To be honest we normally just begin the night in someone's flat and end it in another after visiting another 2 or 3 along the way. We have a really big, tight knit group of friends in Edinburgh and Glasgow so there's nothing better for us than sitting with them listening to tunes and having craic.

What can we look forward to from Lezure in the future?

We've got a residency in La cheetah where we will be bringing the finest deejays from across the globe to come and get down with us. First up, the mighty J-Zbel holding it down all night long. We also have our 2nd birthday in early 2017 where we will be throwing a series of parties between Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh and La Cheetah in Glasgow. Keep your ears to the ground!

Lezure make their Glasgow debut at La Cheetah this Saturday (3rd) with J-Zbel playing all night long. Advance tickets are available from Resident Advisor for £7 (excl fees).
