As one Glasgow’s most respected DJs, with a vast record collection and extensive knowledge of disco obscurities and hits, you can always trust that David Barbarossa will both entertain and educate when he steps into the booth. Having guested on Huntley & Palmers Rinse FM show last month, as well as featuring on Dummy’s Glasgow Spotlight series in 2015, there’s no shortage of quality Barbarossa mixes to get stuck into, but it’s this live recording of him at Fly Club's Sub Club residency which will get your week off to a flyer.

Read what David had to say about the mix and listen below:

“You may be forgiven for thinking that I only play obscure Czech boogie B-Sides and backwards Krautrock, but sometimes I just like to play party jammers in the club.

Tracks from Soundstream, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Golf Channel Recordings and more modern selections alongside some - perhaps more expected - DISCO bangers.

I had no idea this was being recorded (as you may hear) and all needle skips, ropey mixes and general mayhem whilst not part of the plan, was part of the fun. Thanks to Sub Club for having me as always.”

David Barbarossa plays Loosen Up at The Rum Shack on March 12th.
