The meteoric rise of Skepta has been something to behold, and while he’s been at the forefront of grime for the best part of ten years now, in the last twelve months he really has shutdown. From laying waste to the Red Bull Culture Clash in front of thousands of fans at London’s Earl Court to tearing down Silver Hayes at Glastonbury and winning Outstanding Contribution to Music at this year’s AIM Awards, he’s arguably the hottest name in the game. And the best thing about it? He’s just getting started.

Having already had a pop at the charts with his 2011 album ‘Doin’ It Again’, he’s now leading the charge as grime infiltrates the mainstream. The raw sound of last year’s singles ‘That’s Not Me’, ‘It Ain’t Safe’ and more recently, the anthemic ‘Shutdown’, all prove that the mass market are waking up to the real stuff, and Skepta is about to go in.
