Following a simply massive Easter Sunday party where they invited Apollonia's Shonky to lead a sermon of quality house, our favourite party-starters On The House are back to business this Saturday, as they kick-start summer with their annual garden party.
Undoubtedly inspired by messy matinee sessions in Ibiza, On The House residents Raeside & Livingstone will welcome a raft of local talent to The Sanctuary in Glasgow's West End, where its all about the terrace vibes by day and the club heat by night - and don't fret, the terrace is protected from the elements, so you can dance open-air even if it is lashing dogs.
Ahead of the event, we asked Raeside to compile a garden party playlist featuring some of his current favourites and the tracks that will sound sweet on the soundsystem this Saturday. Listen below and jump to the end of the post to find out how to win guestlist:
ANTONELLI – THE REALIST (Italic Recordings)
“My favourite track in my record bag right now is an old one from 1999 that my good mate Jase introduced me to. I’m sure it’s featured on Craig Richards’ fabric CD. The grooving bassline and synth stabs are just perfect; I wanted to keep this one as a hidden gem, but it’s that good the masses should know about it.”
THE MARTINEZ BROTHERS – ANGEL (THE MARTINEZ BROTHERS EDIT) (Soundcloud)
“The kings of the DC10 garden, The Martinez Brothers deliver this brilliant rework. The vocal just does something to me along with the incredible rhythm of the drums; this is a must for Saturday. You can actually grab this as a free download from their Soundcloud.”
IO (MULEN) – CABARET (Diynamic)
“This man consistently delivers and knows how to lay down a groove. His back-catalogue is insane - just listen to this track! Perfect for a day time party or peak time in a club.”
TOMAS ANDERSON – WASHING UP (TIGA REMIX)
“I remember walking into the Sunset Terrace at Space almost ten years ago and hearing Carl Cox drop this record - I was literally blown away. It actually took me a few months to track it down; back then you had to do a bit of digging to find the tracks. I came across it again a few months ago and have been dropping it ever since; safe to say it still does the damage.”
SPEED BOAT – SPEED TOOL 001
“Absolutely perfect for those day time vibes; the piano riff and groove really sets the tone for the day ahead. As soon as I heard it I had to have it!”
ALICE CLARK – AMNEZ (Glasgow Underground)
“One of Ibiza’s fastest rising stars - this is an actual monster of a track! The deep groove, chunky bassline and vocal stabs fit perfectly together. I’m a huge fan of Alice and her work.”
