The man behind such ghetto house classics such as ‘House-O-Matic’, ‘2 B Free’ and ‘Freak Like Me’ (which was back in circulation this summer thanks to a Lee Walker cover), was in Glasgow this weekend to play Nightwave’s Nightrave party at La Cheetah.
As one of house music’s key producers, Deeon has notched up some 20 releases on seminal Chicago label Dance Mania, while inspiring everyone from Nina Kraviz to Night Slugs. The raw, high-velocity sound of ghetto house also helped pave the way for pumped-up sub-genres like footwork and juke.
His set at Rubadub is likely to draw a substantial crowd, and with free beers and a 10% discount on records from 5PM, it’s advisable to get down early.
Catch DJ Deeon from 5PM tonight (Oct 24th) at Rubadub. More info can be found at the Facebook Event.
