COMPETITION: Flash Mob Present...Mia Dora, Ben Martin & Sam Vitamins

2012 has been quite a year. With some of our good friends going on to claim their first releases and others emerging as talent which will no doubt go on to make waves in the future, the state of electronic music in Glasgow has arguably never been better. And it was perhaps the announcement of newly-established label, High Sheen which really set things in motion, bursting on to the scene back in March with a fiery collaboration between Mia Dora, HaHaHa and Raksha. Sounding unlike anything else to emerge from this city, or indeed anywhere for that matter, the release marked the arrival of something new, fresh and exciting.

Founded by Ben Martin and Sam Murray, the label has since gained support from the likes of Eats Everything, Toddla T and Joe Goddard, spanning a wide range of tastemakers who all agree on one thing: quality. This Friday both Ben and Sam join Mia Dora for a special night at Chambre69 with the ever-exuberant Thrust Club. Promoting a brand new night called Flash Mob, they kicked things off in fine style last month with the aforementioned HaHaHa and a storming headline set from Southern Fried’s Birdee. Returning this month with a line up which leans heavy on local talent, you can expect the dancefloor to be a heaving mess come 1am.

And it’s the hybrid sound of Mia Dora who have the task of delivering this, something which will no doubt come with relative ease. Describing the last twelve months as a whirlwind for Al Quinn and Rob Etherson would be somewhat of an understatement, as recent EPs for Jaymo and Andy George’s Moda Black and of course High Sheen have seen the duo claim the attention of the Radio 1 elite and some of the biggest DJs going. With their live performance quickly becoming something of a ‘must see’, expect their headline slot this Friday to truly detonate…

The competition closes at 1pm on Fri 19th October and the winner will be notified via Facebook shortly after (please check your Facebook in the hours following the closure of the competition - failure by the winners to confirm notification by 4pm the same day may result in re-opening the competition on a first-come, first-serve basis). The winner must be 18 years or older. After we have passed on the winner’s details to the event organisers we then pass on responsibility for entry on the night.
