COMPETITION: Subculture Presents Henrik Schwarz (Live)

2012 could well be the Sub Club’s biggest year to date. Celebrating its 25^th anniversary with a month of special parties back in April was seemingly just the beginning, as promoters from across the board continue to showcase some of the  most essential bookings the club has ever seen. This can be no truer than with long-running Saturday night residency Subculture. Following on from massive events with Todd Terje, Jeff Mills and Carl Craig, Harri & Domenic’s long-running weekly is now preparing for one of their biggest months to date, with Lil Louis, Kink and this weekend’s must see, Henrik Schwarz.

Perhaps one of Germany’s most prolific exports, it would be entirely appropriate to describe Henrik as an unsung hero in dance music’s ever developing relationship with technology. After taking up DJ’ing in the early 90s and mastering an enviable talent of cross-genre mixing, he soon became fascinated with computer production, using drum machines and synths before buying his first laptop in 1998. Taking bold steps to integrate it with his DJ’ing, he was quick to realise the possibilities that would become available through advancing software and set about establishing his now extraordinary live show.

With his first foray into production as early as 1992, it’s perhaps no surprise that he’s remixed everyone from Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder, providing a club-worthy edge for some of the world’s biggest stars, but it’s of course his releases such as the incredible ‘Where We At’ on Innervisions and an utterly mesmerising DJ-Kicks mix which have made him one of electronic music’s leading lights. Bringing his live show to Subculture this Saturday, you can expect to be fully blown away as he creates a spontaneous dancefloor experience which is truly unique.

Terms & Conditions: Please note that this prize is for two places on the guestlist for Subculture Presents Henrik Schwarz Live at the Sub Club on Sat 15th September. There will be one winner. The competition closes at 6pm on Fri 14th September and the winner will be notified via Facebook shortly after (please check your Facebook in the hours following the closure of the competition - failure by the winner to confirm notification by 3pm the following day may result in re-opening the competition on a first-come, first-serve basis). The winner must be 18 years or older. After we have passed on the winner’s details to the event organisers we then pass on responsibility for entry on the night.

Entry to this event is pay on the door, priced at £10/12.
