PREVIEW: Sensu Boat Party W/ Tale Of Us

You wouldn’t imagine The Clyde being a popular location for boat parties, especially considering the notoriety of Glasgow’s weather, but with this being the second of Sensu’s legendary cruises this summer, it would appear that the risk of getting a bit wet doesn’t even come into the equation. Picture perfect sunset or not, dancing to quality club music while chugging past some of the city’s most impressive landmarks is a novelty which doesn’t grow old. And with Sensu, you are of course in good hands. No stranger to the sparkling water of Broomielaw, they’ve embarked on voyages with Visionquest, Dyed Soundorom and Art Department, all taking hundreds of punters on a twilight twirl down Scotland's third longest river.

Tonight, the saga continues as Berlin-based production duo Tale Of Us man the decks and guide you through some of the most exciting new sounds in modern House. Signed to the aforementioned Visionquest, Matteo & Karm have been moving dancefloors from DC10 to Watergate on an unstoppable mission to seduce, excite and inspire their audience. Having met in Italy where they set about throwing secret loft parties in Milan, the duo eventually relocated to Berlin where inspiration was to be found in abundance. Liaising with the Visionquest consortium, they were able to enthuse over a more emotive and funk-driven sound which eventually lead to the massively popular ‘Dark Song EP’ as well as numerous collaborations.

An incendiary remix of Thugfucker’s 2010 hit ‘Disco Gnome’ perhaps sealed their fate however, employing an irresistibly catchy hook over a searing bassline, and claiming support from some of dance music’s biggest names in the process. With essential mixes of Maceo Plex, Gui Borrato and Audiofly also causing hysteria we get the feeling this story is far from over…
