Without exaggerating whatsoever, Mia Dora’s ‘Romanticise EP’ was probably our most anticipated release of the year so far. Having first blogged ‘Random Romantics’ back in December 2010, the delight at seeing it included as part of an exceptional four track EP is truly gratifying. Any one of the tracks could have grabbed the title, but we’re sticking to our guns as the completely immersive ‘Random Romantics’ skips to an entirely different beat. We excitedly featured Illyus’ new single ‘Lovers’ at the start of the week, so it was only right we include it in our rundown. Maintaining that same late-night appeal as Mia Dora, this is deep, dangerous and completely seductive. Employing a contorted vocal sample over a scintillating bassline, ‘Lovers’ is a subtly explosive jam which has potential to do some real damage on the dancefloor.

Sei A is simply unstoppable at the moment. We’re holding off before featuring his new ‘You Can Bring EP’ in this segment, but in the meantime, this essential free download appeared from nowhere this week with a fast-pass straight to our hard drive. Taking on Big Black Delta’s ‘I Fucking Love You’, this is visceral hybrid-tech which hits hard without much warning.

Finally, in a completely different direction, Bunty Beats once again delivers with this hot remix on Nutso. You may as well just take us back to 90s New York now, because this is straight Queensbridge heat that could easily have featured on ‘Illmatic’. We’ve got huge admiration for Bunty, partly because his work-rate is second to none, but mostly because everything he touches turns to gold.
