Preview: Sub Club 25 W/ Martyn

PREVIEW: Sub Club 25 W/ Martyn

A little over a year since his last appearance in Glasgow, one of our favourite DJs returns to make light work of the Sub Club’s legendary soundsystem. Having of course just marked its 25th anniversary with a month of incredible parties, the celebrations continue at the subterranean venue with a number of specially planned events set to showcase some of dance music’s most prolific talent alongside future heroes who are already making waves. In the first of these events you can expect the wide spectrum of bass to be fully represented as 3024 label boss, Martyn heads an incredible line up of burgeoning local talent.

Hugely respected for his ability to seamlessly blend style, genre and pace, Martyn has made a name for himself as a DJ who can truly work a floor, using atmosphere, direction and energy to take the club deeper than a simple peak-time assault. As boundaries melt and the forward-thinking attitude of today’s underground encourages a more considered and diverse approach to how music is presented, Martyn is perhaps best positioned to consolidate that via an intuitive background which saw him introduce Drum& Bass to his hometown of Eindhoven, infiltrate London’s exploding Dubstep scene and now ride the crest of Bass Music as a whole.

Joining him on support will be yet another act who embody an open-minded take on modern club music, and a duo who we’ve been shouting about for very long time. As you may have read yesterday, Mia Dora fuse House, Garage, Techno and Bass to create something which is truly distinctive. Showcasing their debut live performance, and with a highly anticipated EP incoming on newly established Glasgow label, High Sheen, this is likely to be a pivotal moment in what we’re predicting will be a lengthy and significant career. Kicking things off will be the ever-captivating HaHaHa, set to seduce the dancefloor with his own inimitable sound…
