Local Hero: Moby - Lie Down In Darkness (Sei A Remix)

We’ve always been intrigued by Sei A’s dark, involving sound. Some call it gothic Techno, but truth be told, there is no defining label. As with this stunning remix of Moby’s recent single ‘Lie Down In Darkness’ you can easily identify elements of Dubstep, Trip Hop and stripped-back Garage. Whether Sei A welcomes such wild speculation is completely irrelevant – to him its probably just ‘music’.

The Revenge returns this week with a rather magnificent remix for Australian producer Tornado Wallace. Taking new single ‘Rainbow Road’ and stretching it out over seven minutes of soaring strings, deep bass and irresistible vocal cuts, this is Graeme Clark doing what he does best - seducing the dancefloor. Expect to hear this at his new night Instruments Of Rapture at the Sub Club.

Ok, time for a complete change of direction. Tuff Wax producer, Grobbie has only recently relocated from his native Aberdeen to Glasgow and we’re glad he did. Putting his hand to everything from Dubstep to House, he is already proving to be a great asset to the scene. Here he turns in a cheeky remix of Clipse & Pharrell’s ‘Mr Me Too’, transforming the gritty appeal of the original into a slick, spark-up head-nodder.

If only the sun was actually shining. Slow It Down come good with the summer vibes once again as they produce yet another feel-good edit for lazy afternoons and pitchers of lemonade (or something to that effect). This time they’ve taken George Duke’s 1983 classic ‘Shine On’ and given it a downright sexy facelift. With disco-dangerous slap-bass and Chic esque piano chords , this is simply ready for the dancefloor.
