As if we couldn’t be excited enough about Hudmo’s‘Satin Panthers’ EP dropping next Monday, the man himself has gone and uploaded the ENTIRE thing to Youtube and boy, was it worth the wait. Opening with the sparkling ‘Octan’, before dropping into the irresistible ghetto bounce of ‘Thunder Bay’, Satin Panthers has literally taken it to another level. Try slapping it with a generic label and you’ll be branded a fool. This is the type of music which can’t be pigeon-holed, soaring far higher then anything we’ve heard in 2011. It’s gold-teeth grinning sub-bass, bouncing back-room grime and inter-celestial hyper-step rolled into one, put simply it’s the sound of the future today (or at least what Robert Moog envisioned music would be like in the 21st century).
