Local Hero: HaHaHa - Adzuki Beans

LOCAL HERO:

There’s no point in hiding just how excited we were to finally get our hands on HaHaHa’s ‘Adzuki Beans’ EP this week. The lead track has been featuring heavily on some of Glasgow’s cooler floors for a while now, always provoking a quite phenomenal reaction. Its grinding bassline, staggered chords and dreamy breakdown all combine to create something entirely unique – if you need to wake up your dancefloor I’d select this one from the hard drive.

Next up, something from Glasgow based production duo, Dynamode which immediately caught our ears. Lazy, hazy and utterly introspective, ‘Right Hand High’ could be a summer anthem in the making for us, capturing the sound of laidback days on the beach and blood-red sunsets. You can catch them at their new night Elastik which launches at Chambre 69 on September 2nd – also featuring Synth favourite, Barrientos on the bill as well as Enzo Siffredi.

Time to get dirty - Soma stalwart, Gary Beck returns this week with a slamming new single by the name of ‘Diva’. Unsurprisingly it’s been getting some incredible feedback from around the world and it’s easy to see why. Revolving around a catchy vocal snippet and a pulsing bassline, we can see this going all summer as its hypnotic energy becomes simply irresistible.

Finally, our Local Hero run down wouldn’t be complete without something new from Deep House bastion, Ali OOFT!. Remixing Craig Bratley, he has once again managed to create a scintillating atmosphere which immediately draws you deep into sonic bliss. Building ever so slowly but never resorting to an unnecessary climax this will take you under without you even noticing.
