You’ve got to admire the Scottish spirit, this summer is officially on target to be the one of the wettest, dullest, most dismal seasons since the Icelandic volcano of Laki erupted. The rain has been persistent and those golden days of sunshine are few and far between. Thankfully this doesn’t deter promoters in their efforts to go alfresco and this Sunday is a perfect example as the ever so hip Thunder Disco Club team up with Auchentoshan whisky for an afternoon of grilled food, tasting sessions and delicious sunshine grooves.

Taking advantage of the bank holiday weekend, Scotland’s only brand of triple-distilled single malt begin their ‘Auchentoshan…presents’ tour at the Black Sparrow, promising a whisky-fuelled evening which will no doubt carry on late into the night. On hand to stoke the dancefloor will be four connoisseurs of the finest Disco, with Glasgow’s own Thunder Disco Club bringing their distinctive blend of stylistic party music and sex-dripping Italo-funk, while local legend and Supermax resident Billy Woods scours his 20,000 strong record collection to get the girls on the floor and begging for more. Feel My Bicep ambassador, Rory Bicep will also be on hand to provide some deliciously seductive dancefloor heaters.

Finally, if that wasn’t enough, New York Disco diamond Jacques Renault will be jetting in to deliver some of the irresistible late night flavours he’s become so well known for, providing a perfect end to a day of delectable indulgence. Holding down residencies at everywhere from Womb to Fabric, Happy Endings to 205 as well as releasing a number of highly popular remixes, edits and original productions, Jacques simply oozes dancefloor flare and his presence will certainly complete what is shaping up to be a rather special bank holiday weekend…
